Street Lighting Design

Street lighting design is a key element on all improved highways or new highways including new car park layouts.

As traffic numbers and densities are increasing on our roads, it is recognised that lighting has an important role in making the public and private realm safer for pedestrians, vulnerable users and drivers of vehicles.

With the introduction of publications such as the UK Polices’ flagship initiative ‘Secured by Design’ it is also acknowledged that street lighting helps to prevent crime and also reduces the fear of crime.
